Building on Stoneridge’s commitment to enhance driver visibility and passenger safety, MirrorEye MP II replaces traditional side-view mirrors with advanced digital cameras and high-definition monitors, revolutionizing driver visibility. By eliminating blind spots, MirrorEye enhances road safety, improves driver awareness of surrounding objects and Vulnerable Road Users, and delivers superior vision in challenging environments where traditional mirrors fall short.
The next-generation of MirrorEye takes safety to the next level by helping drivers stay aware of pedestrians and cyclists with critical safety features. The system includes visual warnings of the Blind Spot Information System (BSIS) and the Moving Off Information System (MOIS) from the vehicle – ensuring full compliance with the European Union’s General Safety Regulation (EU 2019/2144).

When a cyclist is detected in the bus’s blind spot, a warning appears on the monitor. An orange signal means caution, while red clearly indicates immediate danger. When pedestrians or cyclists are in front of the bus just before driving off, a direct alert will appear on the monitor, helping drivers to react instantly. And in the unlikely event that an accident occurs, the Digital Video Stream Output enables recordings you can use for incident documentation, liability protection, and driver training.
Stoneridge MirrorEye: image quality at its best
Stoneridge MirrorEye delivers outstanding image quality and reliable visibility in all conditions. The system reduces sun glare during the day, while infrared technology provides sharp, full-color vision at night, helping to reduce eye strain, enhance driver comfort, and minimize fatigue. Additionally, the lenses are heated and treated with a hydrophobic coating, ensuring clear views even in rain, snow, or dusty conditions.

Featuring surveillance camera
A built-in surveillance camera uses the same high-quality lens and sensor technology as the side-view cameras, ensuring a consistent and seamless visual experience across all displays. Footage from the surveillance camera can be directed to a dedicated seven-inch monitor or integrated into the system’s existing 12.3-inch or 15-inch displays, depending on cabin requirements.
By combining multiple camera views into a single monitor, the vehicle’s cabin is simplified, eliminating the need for separate screens. The system automatically switches between views based on the situation or usage, offering the driver enhanced safety and convenience. This reduces distractions, contributing to a more focused and relaxed driving experience. Furthermore, the system provides flexibility, adapting to different driving conditions and the specific needs of the driver.
“The launch of MirrorEye MP II marks a major step forward in our mission to deliver safer transport solutions,” said Natalia Noblet, President of Stoneridge’s Electronics Division. “By combining advanced vision technology with intelligent safety systems, we’re helping bus and coach operators protect passengers, drivers, and vulnerable road users“.
