Polish city of Białystok has placed an order for 30 Yutong U12 electric buses through Busnex Poland, the local distributor. This follows the delivery of 20 Yutong E12 electric buses in 2023, which are currently in service on the city’s public transport network. The contract also includes 25 depot charging stations and three mobile chargers, aimed at supporting the city’s growing electric fleet.

Białystok orders Yutong electric buses

The new buses will be delivered in the fully low-floor U12 version with three doors and a capacity of up to 95 passengers. Standard equipment includes automatic air conditioning, a 360-degree camera system, and an advanced driver warning system for potential hazards.

As part of the contract, the city will also receive 25 depot charging stations and 3 mobile charging stations, which will be installed across three depots. The company will also provide training for drivers and technical staff.

The purchase of the buses is made possible thanks to an agreement between the city of Białystok and the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, within the framework of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.

Marcin Kucharski, CEO of Busnex Poland, states: “This is already the second major contract signed with the city of Białystok. The first, signed in September 2022, concerned the delivery of twenty zero-emission Yutong E12 buses. Delivered in the second half of 2023, these buses have successfully operated on Białystok’s public transport routes.”
