Munich-based hydrogen bus manufacturer Arthur Bus is reporting key milestones in 2025, including a contract for 20 buses, the launch of a new production facility, and its first successful bid for public transport services in Germany.

The company announces indeed that has signed a contract valued at over €15 million for the delivery of 20 hydrogen fuel cell buses and associated services to the city of Lublin, Poland. The vehicles are scheduled to enter service by the first quarter of 2026, expanding Lublin’s hydrogen bus fleet to 24 units. The project is supported by national and European Union funding programs.

The vehicle was on show at Mobility Move 2025, shortly after the former Quantron executive Martin Lischka was appointed CEO of Arthur Holding GmbH.

Arthur Bus to deliver buses in Poland

In Germany, the company states that the model “H2 Zero 12 was able to prevail against strong competition in the tender process in the Bremerhaven metropolitan area. Arthur Bus has thus succeeded in entering the German regular service market” – a key step in a segment  that is developing rapidly towards emission-free mobility.”

Arthur Bus also recently inaugurated a new manufacturing facility in the same city of Lublin, Poland. The plant spans 10,000 square meters and is designed to produce several hundred hydrogen buses annually. The facility is part of the company’s broader expansion strategy in Europe.

Arthur’s H2 buses combine hydrogen fuel cells with lithium-titanate (LTO) batteries, enabling a reported range of over 500 kilometers. The buses feature a 37.5 kg hydrogen tank capacity and are designed for short refuelling times. The vehicles also include digital fleet management services, predictive maintenance tools, and a modular service offering aimed at optimizing fleet availability and reducing operational costs.
