Amphos, a UK-based specialist in smart energy and fleet electrification, has acquired Cleaner Group, a Independent Connection Provider (ICP) in the EV infrastructure sector. The move took place in late July and strengthens Amphos’ technical capacity and positions the company to accelerate the rollout of electric transport solutions across multiple segments, from e-buses and e-trucks to commercial and residential energy projects.
Amphos manages the electrification process, including groundworks, grid connections, equipment installation and commissioning. This approach aims to deliver charging facilities on schedule and within budget, while limiting operational disruption.
Amphos takes over Cleaner to create a single provider
Cleaner Group is an Independent Connection Provider (ICP) with expertise in grid connections, substations, and high-voltage infrastructure. Its acquisition enables Amphos to manage both offsite works, such as grid integration, and onsite activities including installation and commissioning. This goes in the direction of creating a single provider covering the full scope of fleet electrification projects.
Amphos underlines that “while both companies will continue to operate independently, this move unlocks significant opportunities. From accelerating rollout in the e-bus and e-truck sectors to strengthening capabilities across renewables, residential, and commercial energy, we’re now positioned to offer a far greater level of service across the board.
Mark Oxtoby, Managing Director at Amphos, highlights: “After six successful years at a global leader in finance and engineering, I’m excited to bring that experience and insight to support Cleaner through their next phase of growth, innovation, and impact”.
Jamie Charles, CEO of Cleaner Group, states: “Firstly, I’d like to thank our shareholders for making this possible. Bringing these businesses together enhances and strengthens our proposition in the EV sector, while also expanding our engineering capabilities to support other verticals, including Renewables, Residential, and Industrial & Commercial. It’s an exciting step forward for both teams.”
