Kempower and EO Charging announce they have reached a new milestone in the UK’s e-bus infrastructure, installing over 300 fast charge points across major depots, supporting operators including Metroline, Go Ahead, and Stagecoach.
And another 150 chargers are said to be already under construction. In June 2025 Kempower made public it is set to power a major new electric bus depot in Bayswater, Perth (Australia), with charging capacity for 132 buses.

Kempower – EO Charging partnership ahead
Since forming their partnership in 2022, the two companies have equipped 11 depots in London and Scotland with DC fast chargers, delivering more than 20 GWh of energy to electric buses. The result: an estimated reduction of 26.8 million kg of CO₂—equivalent to taking nearly 14,000 passenger cars off the road or powering over 12,000 homes for a year, as Kempower states in a press note.
Most recently, the companies completed Kempower’s first Northern Hemisphere pantograph project in Scotland, with EO Charging installation. Pantographs allow buses to charge via an overhead connector rather than a cable, delivering up to 500 kW of power.

Rolle Nieminen, Kempower’s Head of Sales for the UK and Ireland, said: “The successful delivery of pantograph infrastructure in Scotland shows that the UK’s bus networks are ready for fast, automated charging built for reliability. By partnering with EO Charging, we’re helping operators scale up their electric fleets with confidence and ensuring public transport keeps moving as the e-mobility sector grows.”
Philip Kershaw, Director of eBus at EO Charging, said: “Deploying more than 300 bus charging points in partnership with Kempower shows what’s possible when infrastructure expertise meets world-class charging technology. We’re really proud of the work we’ve delivered for our joint customers so far and are excited to continue working together to lead the expansion of e-Bus infrastructure across the UK and Europe.”
