Ankai buses will be sold on the European market under the Urbaneo brand, under the newly-established Tekauto company. Just a few days ahead of Busworld Europe, taking place in Brussels from October 4 to 9, there’s a “surprise” announcement involving a Chinese bus manufacturer, Ankai, part of Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Co. Ltd.
A new company named Tekauto has just been established and presents itself as the exclusive importer of Ankai buses, as well as JAC Motors vehicles. Tekauto will make its debut at Busworld at the Ankai stand, showcasing two electric models from its range, which, according to the official note, “combine Ankai’s industrial strength with JAC Motors’ technology.”

Tekauto to import Ankai buses in Europe
Importantly, Tekauto is a fully European-based company with national subsidiaries. It was founded by Sergio Habib, former president of PSA in Brazil and is already established in Spain, Portugal, Italy and France.
Ankai buses will be sold under the Urbaneo brand.
At Busworld 2025, Urbaneo Bus will indeed present the Urbaneo City 6 minibus and the Urbaneo Vista DD12 double-decker sightseeing coach, both battery-powered. The range is set to expand soon and will initially be available in France, Benelux, Germany, and Italy, supported by local branches and comprehensive service.

Future models will include the Urbaneo City (urban), Urbaneo Tour (intercity), and Urbaneo Vista Class III, complemented by the Urbaneo Move package, offering full-service contracts, charging infrastructure, and fleet management support.
The Urbaneo City 6 is under 6 meters long, seats 22 passengers, has a 127 kWh battery, and a range of up to 250 km, compliant with Gsr2 safety regulations.
The Urbaneo Vista DD12 double-decker, already in service in Paris in 2024 with Big Bus, offers various battery options with a range of 280–300 km and meets European safety standards. A standard closed-roof configuration is also available.
