French-based Safra is back after receivership and takeover by a new owner from China. And also with a new name: Safra New Mobility is in fact exhibiting at Busworld Europe 2025 outlining its redefined industrial strategy and a broader product portfolio.
The French manufacturer, now under the ownership of the Wanrun Mining Group, besides keeping a focus on ydrogen buses, is extending its range to include battery-electric minibuses and vans.
Safra New Mobility: Chinese Wanrun Mining Group is the new owner
The entry of Wanrun Mining as majority shareholder is said as having opened new pathways for industrial collaboration with Chinese manufacturers. These partnerships allow Safra New Mobility to diversify its product lineup, relying on established electric vehicle supply chains while retaining design and adaptation capabilities in France, the Albi-based company states. According to the company, this model enables shorter delivery times and cost-competitive products, addressing the growing demand for small and medium-sized zero-emission vehicles in European markets.

Safra New Mobility bus range at Busworld
At Busworld, Safra New Mobility is presenting three vehicles that illustrate the scope of this new industrial approach. The 12-metre HYCITY, already available in a hydrogen version, combines a 250 kW electric axle, a 75 kW fuel cell and an 80 kWh battery, offering a range of up to 500 kilometres and a capacity of 96 passengers in the French configuration. A battery-electric version, developed in partnership with a Chinese manufacturer, will be launched at the end of 2025 with a 450 kW motor and a 420 kWh LFP battery, providing 350 kilometres of range in SORT2 conditions.
The INYCIA minibus, six metres long, has been developed jointly with Safra’s Chinese partners (not mentioned). It is powered by a 220 kW motor and a 128 kWh LFP battery, ensuring a 290-kilometre range (SORT2) and capacity for 28 passengers. Production is planned to start in the first half of 2026. Completing the line-up is the EVANYA, an electric van designed for school, tourism and community transport. With a 150 kW motor, a 170 kWh LFP battery and 300 kilometres of range (CLTC), it offers 22 seats and will also enter production in early 2026.
“We are proud to take advantage of Busworld to unveil our new zero-emission range strategy. More than just a series of models, it is a true industrial vision that we share: to offer local authorities and organizing authorities vehicles adapted to a variety of uses, both in cities and rural areas. This strategy is the result of the synergies we are developing with our Asian partners, opening up new technological and industrial perspectives.” says Vincent Lemaire, Director of Safra New Mobility
