Following some anticipations circulating in June, Vietnam-based automotive producer VinFast has officially announced in late August it will introduce its electric bus models to the European market for the first time at Busworld Europe 2025, held in Brussels from October 3–9, 2025. Two models, the EB 8 and EB 12 (arguably a 8 and a 12-meter, although not explicitly mentioned…), will be presented and are planned to enter operational service in the EU by 2026.

The buses are designed to support Europe’s transition to zero-emission public transport. Both models are said to feature efficient electric powertrains, fast-charging capabilities, and passenger-focused amenities, alongside smart onboard systems that include Passive ADAS functions such as Blind Spot Detection, Intelligent Speed Assist, Forward Collision Warning, and Drowsiness Detection.

VinFast gets ready for Busworld Europe

The VinFast EB 12, according to the OEM’s note, has been fully homologated to meet UNECE and CE regulations, ensuring compliance with European standards for size, configuration, range, and charging compatibility. The vehicles are equipped with LFP battery packs supplied by CATL and Gotion, offering capacities of up to 422 kWh and a real-world range of up to 400 km, with fast charging at up to 140 kW enabling full turnaround in 2 to 3 hours.

VinFast has operated its electric bus line in Vietnam for four years, managing a fully integrated ecosystem for production, deployment, and servicing of urban e-bus fleets. The company’s production capacity ranges from 1,500 to 2,000 electric buses per year, with all manufacturing processes being CE-compliant according to VinFast.

Le Thi Thu Thuy, Chairwoman of VinFast, shared: “Europe shares VinFast’s vision of a green and sustainable future and the launch of our VinFast electric bus models at Busworld is a strong statement of VinFast’s long-term commitment to the region. Beyond individual electric cars, we are building a comprehensive green transformation ecosystem to make electrified transport more accessible than ever. With an increasingly diverse product range, we are confident we can contribute to creating a zero-emission transport system and a cleaner, greener life for Europeans.”
