Germany’s HY‑X International Hydrogen and High Voltage Competence Center GmbH and Singapore-based Wisdom Motor announce that they will formalize a joint venture at Busworld Europe 2025 in Brussels. The partnership aims “to establish an efficient service, sales, and production platform for zero-emission commercial vehicles”, initially targeting the German market with plans for gradual expansion across Europe.

Wisdom to provide e-buses in Germany

The new company, structured as a German GmbH, will focus on an integrated approach combining vehicle distribution, service and spare parts logistics, mobile support through a “Flying Doctor” team, and training of skilled personnel. The joint venture also plans to establish micro-factories for SKD and CKD assembly, supporting localized production and faster deployment of zero-emission fleets, the companies state in a press note.

The collaboration combines HY‑X’s expertise in market entry, service infrastructure, and regulatory compliance with Wisdom’s product, manufacturing, and technology capabilities, with the goal of creating a platform designed to support operators, municipalities, and fleet managers. The venture will also feature an exhibition and test center to showcase vehicles and technologies directly to potential customers.

HY‑X International Hydrogen and High Voltage Competence Center GmbH, based in Düren, Germany, specializes in supporting zero-emission commercial vehicles, focusing on battery electric and hydrogen fuel cell technologies. The company provides service, training, and local production solutions to accelerate fleet decarbonization. HY‑X also collaborates with research partners to advance applied hydrogen technology and e-mobility education.

According to HY‑X Managing Director Franz Peter Staudt, the joint venture “brings together the best of both worlds: cutting-edge international technology and a deep understanding of the needs of our local customers. Together, we are shaping a future in which zero-emission mobility is not only sustainable but also economically attractive”.

Wisdom Motor’s CEO, Jingde Tang, emphasized the complementary nature of the partnership: “Wisdom combines research, development, and scalable manufacturing. Together with HY‑X, we are creating a customer experience that offers sales, service, spare parts supply, and training from a single source.”
