Masabi announces it has acquired Passenger Technology Group, integrating passenger information and ticketing technologies into its SaaS fare collection platform for public transport.
Passenger Technology Group Ltd is a UK-based provider of passenger information and ticketing software for public transport authorities and operators. The transaction brings Passenger Technology Group into Masabi’s portfolio of mobility software solutions, expanding the scope of its enterprise-grade SaaS fare collection offering. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The acquisition positions Masabi to combine its Justride fare collection platform with Passenger Technology Group’s white-label digital products, including mobile applications, websites and real-time passenger information systems.
Masabi expands SaaS offer with Passenger Technology
Passenger Technology Group develops white-label passenger information systems that enable transport authorities and operators to deliver branded digital experiences to passengers. Its product portfolio includes mobile and web-based applications, as well as real-time service information tools. Masabi stated that the integration of these capabilities will align fare collection, payments and passenger information within a single software ecosystem.
Masabi confirmed that it will present combined capabilities from Masabi and Passenger Technology Group at Transport Ticketing Global in London on 17–18 March 2026, where it will showcase the expanded functionality of its public transport ticketing and passenger information technologies.
Passenger Technology Group will continue to support its existing customer base following the acquisition. Masabi stated that continuity of service for current Passenger Technology Group clients will be maintained while the two companies work on product integration and the development of additional functionality. Passenger Technology Group’s technologies will become part of Masabi’s broader mobility software portfolio.
Both companies operate from the United Kingdom and serve public transport authorities and operators with software-based solutions. Masabi indicated that the acquisition supports the expansion of its end-to-end plan-pay-ride capabilities, covering ticket purchasing, payments, service information and passenger communications through cloud-native systems.
Brian Zanghi, CEO of Masabi, said: “Passenger has cultivated an excellent reputation for delivering intuitive, high-quality digital experiences that put customers first. By combining Passenger with Masabi’s offerings, we will accelerate our vision of a fully connected, cloud-based mobility platform that can serve both operators and passengers worldwide.”
Tom Quay, CEO of Passenger Technology Group Ltd, said: “Masabi is a company that shares our focus on innovation, reliability, and improving public transport for both operators and passengers. Joining Masabi gives us the opportunity to scale our technology and bring the Passenger customer experience platform to new markets, while continuing to serve existing clients.”
