Foton AUV has delivered a batch of BJ6126 hydrogen fuel cell intercity buses to Beijing Leading Tourism Passenger Transport Company, as reported by the Chinese trade media Chinabuses. The number of buses delivered is not specified.

In August 2022, Foton signed a deal for 1,022 battery-electric city buses headed to Santiago de Chile (following a previous batch of over 200 units).

Foton delivers fuel cell buses in Beijing

Foton AUV has been a pioneer in the commercial operation of hydrogen fuel cell buses since 2003. Notably, Foton-made fuel cell buses have been deployed during events such as Beijing Olympic Games, Beijing Winter Olympic Games, Beijing Winter Paralympics, and the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation.

Chinabuses highlights that during the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, a fleet of 515 Foton AUV hydrogen fuel cell buses covered a total distance of 1.888 million kilometers.

The bus adopts U-degree integrated thermal management technology, reducing overall vehicle energy consumption by 7%. Hydrogen fueling time is of just 15-20 minutes and strong endurance, it effectively combines environmental protection and efficiency, offering a new green travel experience to Beijing’s citizens.
