Primary Chinese battery maker CATL has recently unveiled a LFP EV battery model promising over 1,000 km driving range. The launch event happened at the latest Beijing Auto Show, held until a few days ago in the Chinese capital city.

CATL new LFP battery for +1,000 km range

The current generation of batteries unveiled by CATL can ensure driving range of about 700 km, and are already being used by some car manufacturers on a global scale. According to Reuters, “Chinese battery makers including CATL grew faster than rivals to account for more than two-thirds of global EV battery capacity last year”.

CATL is currently collaborating with some major truck manufacturers, including Mercedes-Benz Trucks, in order to equip their innovative electric truck models, such as the eActros 600 with LFP battery packs. It’s also the producer chosen by many bus OEMs such as Karsan, CaetanoBus, Solaris, Yutong, just to name a few. A few weeks ago CATL announced the launch of a jointly-developed battery with Yutong.
