BYD has just delivered a 12-meter eBus to the Hungarian operator Volánbusz. What is interesting is that this ZE vehicle will offer daily electric bus services across the Danube river to the cities of Komarom, Hungary on the south bank of the river, and Karmano, Slovakia, on the north bank.

Volánbusz’s latest low-floor BYD vehicle is equipped with a 348kWh battery capacity. Volánbusz plans to buy addityional electric vehicles and charging infrastructure, BYD says in a press note announcing this purchase.

“This is an historic day for the people of Komárom and Komárno,” said Yongping Chen, Managing Director, BYD Electric Bus & Truck Hungary. “Passengers can travel across the Danube on board a pure-electric BYD eBus in safety, comfort and, above all, help promote a cleaner, more sustainable future for the two cities.
