TEMSA closed 2025 with a record turnover of $554 million, while Europe remained one of the manufacturer’s key markets and electrification continued to expand across its portfolio with 11 zero-emission models. Alongside these developments, the MD9 remains one of the company’s most established coach products, with nearly 1,500 vehicles currently in operation according to TEMSA.
Sustainable Bus tested the MD9 in northern Italy, across a route connecting Verona, Mantua and the Lake Garda area. The territory offers a combination of narrow streets, tourist destinations, regional roads and longer-distance connections within a relatively limited space, creating a representative operating environment for a vehicle positioned between traditional midibuses and full-size touring coaches.
At 9,480 mm in length, the MD9 sits in a segment where maneuverability is often a primary requirement. Historic town centres, tourism-related services and regional routes frequently impose space constraints that can limit the use of larger vehicles.
The MD9 combines these compact dimensions with a passenger capacity of up to 39 seats and a luggage compartment offering 5 cubic metres of storage volume. During the test, the vehicle operated across a variety of road conditions, from urban environments to open regional roads serving tourist destinations.
According to TEMSA, demand for the model has been particularly strong in markets including Spain, Italy, Germany and the United Kingdom.
