CaetanoBus announces it has secured a new contract from STCP, the public operator of the city of Porto, in Portugal, for the supply of 30 electric buses, in a deal valued at €11.6 million, following the procurement issued in early 2025. This marks the third time that STCP has selected CaetanoBus as its supplier of electric city buses and represents the second consecutive order for the latest generation of the e.City Gold model, following the contract of 20 units in 2024.

The e.City Gold model is 12 meters long and has a capacity of up to 88 passengers. It belongs to the new generation of CaetanoBus’ buses developed together with CRRC and announced in June. They’ll be on display at Busworld Europe.

The e.City Gold are equipped with CATL BC5 battery systems—offering up to 465 kWh. CATL’s BC5 technology features high-energy-density LFP cells, designed for safety, fast charging, and long service life.

Nuno Lago de Carvalho, CaetanoBus’ member of the Executive Commetee and CCO , commented: “We are extremely proud to have been selected once again as the preferred supplier in a highly competitive international tender. The supply of additional electric buses to STCP,a long-standing partner with whom we have collaborated for decades, is particularly significant and it is the second order from STCP for our new generation of electric buses which reinforces its success.”
