Huludao PT (Huludao Public Transport), in Chinese province of Liaoning, ordered 83 Yutong full electric buses. So far, the public transport company has totally 441 Yutong buses in the fleet, and 286 units of them are new energy buses.

Yutong, 90,000 electric buses sold to date

The first full electric buses were purchased by Hulada PT in 2016. That order was made up of 110 full electric Yutong buses. After that, several batches of full electric buses were purchased one after another by Huludao PT. So far, Yutong Bus has achieved a total sales volume of 90,000 new energy buses all around the world.

400 buses a day out of Yutong plants

«In 2018 Yutong produced 62,000 buses, 24,800 of which are electric vehicles – said Franco Miniero, Managing Director for the European and North American markets and responsible for the strategic development of Yutong for markets outside China -. Yutong electric buses, focus on the performances

The performance of the vehicles is also the key issue the Huludao PT concerns about. “After more than two years of actual operation, Yutong full electric buses have not only fully withstood the low temperature test of Huludao in winter, but also showcased their good performance in respect of the safety, reliability and ride comfort, which were highly praised by drivers and passengers,” said Xu Guolei, general manager assistant of Huludao PT as mentioned in the press release by Yutong.

Knorr-Bremse ESP on Yutong electric buses?

A few weeks ago Knorr-Bremse announces that it is going to supply its Electronic Brake System (EBS) to «one of the world’s leading bus manufacturer», in China. At least, this is the expression used by Knorr-Bremse in the press release where the company disclosed the new initiative aimed at entering the market of electric buses. According to the German press agency dpa, the name of the electric bus manufacturer is Yutong.

China, the king of ebus markets

According to data from the China Bus Statistics Information Union, in the context of the overall weakness of the Chinese bus market, which decreased by 13.5% in the first three quarters of 2018, a total of 55,658 new energy buses were soldin the Chinese market, with a year-on-year increase of over 20%In China, new energy buses include full (or pure) electric buses, plugin hybrid buses, and fuel cell buses. Due to China’s policy orientation (pure electrification of public transportation systems), pure electric buses occupy more than 80% of the market share (in 2017, this figure was 85%).
