Indcar win Astral tender for 129 electric minibuses in Lazio, Italy, with the Mobi City on eDaily chassis

In May of this year the public transport operator Astral, in Lazio region (Italy), issued a tender for the supply of 129 electric buses for local public transport services for urban and suburban missions in the municipalities of the region, excluding Rome. A single-lot tender worth €49 million, for battery-powered Class I buses between 7.75 and 8.50 meters.
The winner is now known: Iveco, in collaboration with its long-standing dealer Romana Diesel and Indcar: the winning model is the short Mobi City on an eDaily chassis. The first 80 vehicles will be delivered in 2026, by September 30th.
Indcar reported record growth and unveiled new brand identity at Busworld Europe 2025, where also the upcoming delivery was celebrated.
129 electric minibuses by Indcar for Italy
The vehicles will be available in two configurations: one with 27 total seats, including a wheelchair area (14 seats, 12 standing places, and 1 wheelchair), and one with 30 total seats (14 seats and 16 standing places). The interior design, curated by Indcar, features vandal-resistant ABS monocoque urban seats.
