Thirty-two ie tram by Irizar e-mobility for the Yucatan region of Mexico: the first units will enter service on December 30 in the Va-y-Ven public transportation system. This is a pioneering project for the Mexican state that will connect the Mayan Train terminal, Umán, Kanasín, the Uadye Teya Faculty of Engineering with La Plancha Park in Mérida

The vehicles are 12 meters long, equipped with 3 doors, 33 seats, 1 wheelchair area, a handicap ramp, and will accommodate up to 80 passengers in total. The ie tram can be recharged via inverted pantograph or in depots via the Combo 2 charging outlet.

During the presentation event, Irizar e-mobility’s general manager, Iñigo Etxeberria, commented: «We at Irizar will take advantage of the convergence of business channels already established in Mexico to give our full support to this project and thus make it a benchmark in Latin America. This is a very important project for us, as it is the first time we will take our electromobility solutions outside the European market. It is a challenge that we face with great enthusiasm and with which we hope to contribute to the improvement of the quality of life of the Yucatechians».
