Irizar has delivered the first unit of its electric integral intercity bus Irizar i3 Electric to the Polish city of Bełchatów.

The vehicle, unveiled last year at Busworld Brussels 2025, was officially presented in the presence of local and regional authorities, representatives of Wanicki, Irizar’s official distributor in Poland, and the Irizar team. The delivery marks the first deployment of the Irizar i3 Electric integral Low Entry model in the country.

According to a press note by Irizar, the vehicle will begin operating in early June in Bełchatów and across the Łódź region. The transport initiative is intended to provide free connections between municipalities in the region and the city centre.

Irizar i3 Electric for Bełchatów

Irizar e-mobility secured in late 2025 contracts for 80 electric buses across five Polish cities including Warsaw, Krakow, Katowice and Bielsko-Biała.

The vehicle has been specifically developed for intercity applications and is available in both Low Entry and Normal Floor variants.

The delivered vehicle is a 12.75-metre integral electric intercity bus configured with 45 seats and capacity for up to 20 standing passengers. The layout also includes the option for a dedicated PRM space.

The vehicle is equipped with a new-generation high-definition destination display and extra-tinted windows, Irizar says. Among the onboard systems is a built-in 360-degree overhead camera designed to support vehicle manoeuvring and operational safety in both urban and intercity environments.
