Solaris announces it has signed a contract with Danish operator AarBus for the delivery of 50 Urbino 18 electric buses, with an option for an additional 36 units. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2027, reinforcing Solaris’ presence in the Northern European market.

Solaris has a long-standing presence in Denmark, with deliveries dating back to 2006. To date, more than 350 Solaris buses, including 100 electric vehicles, operate in the country. Aarhus was the first Danish city to introduce Solaris electric buses in regular service with an order dated 2021 (followed by further 56 units commissioned in 2023).

AarBus, responsible for city and regional routes in Aarhus, Denmark’s second-largest city, will significantly expand its zero-emission fleet. If the optional 36 units are confirmed, the total order could reach 86 articulated electric buses.

The Urbino 18 electric buses will feature Solaris High Energy batteries with a total capacity exceeding 700 kWh. Deliveries of optional units are planned for 2028.
