The City of Szczecin, Poland, has ordered 20 Solaris Urbino 18 electric articulated buses, with deliveries scheduled for 2027 and 2028.
The contract, announces by Solaris, was signed by representatives of the city and Solaris Bus & Coach. The zero-emission buses will be operated by SPAK and based at the operator’s depot on Klonowica Street, according to Solaris.
Solaris has delivered nearly 200 buses to Szczecin to date, including 34 battery-electric and 17 hybrid vehicles. The city’s electric fleet has been built through successive contracts, starting with eight articulated Urbino 18 electric buses, followed by another eight electric buses and a 2024 order for 14 units. Szczecin has also recently ordered 12 Urbino 18 mild-hybrid buses, while Solaris is currently manufacturing 44 hybrid buses for operator SPAD, with deliveries scheduled for 2027-2028.
Szczecin orders 20 Solaris Urbino 18 electric buses
The 18-metre buses will be equipped with Solaris High Energy batteries and will support both plug-in and pantograph charging. The latter will allow opportunity charging at terminal stops.
Each Urbino 18 electric will accommodate up to 120 passengers, with 35 seats, 11 of which will be accessible directly from the low-floor area. The vehicles will also feature air conditioning and passenger information systems.
The specification includes photovoltaic panels intended to supply auxiliary systems, particularly while buses are waiting at terminal stops. Szczecin has also selected eSConnect, Solaris’ remote fleet diagnostics and monitoring system.

The buses will be fitted with several driver assistance systems, including Moving Off Information System (MOIS), Blind Spot Information System (BSIS), Intelligent Speed Assistance (ISA), and Driver Drowsiness and Attention Warning systems (DDAW/ADDW), Solaris states.
