TSRTC has rolled out 65 new electric buses from the Ranigunj depot, marking a key step in Hyderabad’s expanding zero-emission transit strategy.

The deployment advances Telangana’s effort to scale cleaner public transport at a time of rising commuter demand. As Times of India reported, TSRTC (that stands for Telangana State Road Transport Corporation and is the state-run public bus operator in Telangana state, already operates 810 electric buses statewide, including 300 in Hyderabad. With 175 more units expected by January-end, the city’s electric fleet will reach 540, positioning it among India’s largest EV bus operations. The transport company plans to have as many as 1,050 electric buses operational within 2025.
