The fourth edition of Busworld Southeast Asia is scheduled to take place from 20 to 22 May 2026 at Jakarta International Expo, Kemayoran. According to the Busworld press release, the exhibition is positioned in one of Asia’s largest bus markets, with Indonesia described as ranking among the ten largest bus markets worldwide.

The country’s bus sector is supported by demand for public transport, ongoing fleet renewal activity and a developed bodybuilder industry that holds a central role in vehicle production.

Sustainable Bus’ editorial staff will be on-site to report from the exhibition, as in 2024.

Busworld Southeast Asia 2026: focus on bus bodybuilders

The previous edition of Busworld Southeast Asia recorded 4,582 visitors from 33 countries, according to Busworld data, with 48 exhibitors and 19 vehicles on display across a total exhibition area of 6,500 square metres.

The 2026 event is set to feature a strong presence from Indonesian bus bodybuilders. Adi Putro, Laksana, Tentrem and New Armada are announced as exhibitors. According to Busworld Southeast Asia, these companies together account for around 80 per cent of the domestic market. Piala Mas is also expected to join the show for the first time, adding another established local manufacturer to the exhibition floor.

The Busworld press release presents this combined participation as a representation of the structure of the Indonesian bus industry, where domestic bodybuilders maintain a central role in production and vehicle design while operating in partnership with international chassis suppliers. Alongside local manufacturers, international bus makers such as Golden Dragon are also expected to participate in the Jakarta event.

Vehicle display and supplier ecosystem

The exhibition is announced as covering the broader bus and coach supply chain rather than vehicle display alone. Busworld Southeast Asia says the 2026 edition will include city buses, intercity buses and tourism coaches, together with premium and luxury vehicles. The scope of the show will also extend to electric buses and other future mobility solutions.

Components, interiors, accessories and safety systems are included in the exhibition profile, as well as digital tools covering fleet management and smart transport technologies.

Alongside the exhibition, the Busworld Southeast Asia Conference will run with participation from policymakers, operators, manufacturers and industry experts from across the ASEAN region. The programme will include speakers from ASEAN governments, transport authorities and private-sector companies, with a broader regional stakeholder presence across the sessions.

The conference is scheduled to open with a session focused on ASEAN’s position in the global bus market and on the transition to clean, smart and connected buses. The programme will then address electrification, charging infrastructure, urban mobility policies, safety standards and digital transformation. Additional sessions are expected to cover the international ambitions of Southeast Asian bodybuilders, the future of intercity transport and multimodal transport integration.

“Busworld Southeast Asia continues to grow as a relevant meeting place for the region. We are pleased to see a stronger ASEAN presence in the conference programme and expect to welcome more visitors from across the region. This is something we aim to further develop in the coming years.”, says Vincent Dewaele, General Manager of Busworld International.
