“After careful assessment of the evolving situation in the Gulf region and its impact on international travel, UITP has taken the difficult decision to cancel the 2026 Summit, scheduled to take place in Dubai from 21 to 23 April.” With these words, the International Association of Public Transport announced the cancellation of the event that was planned for this spring.

The statement released reads: “UITP maintains a strong and longstanding relationship with our 2026 host, RTA Dubai, which invested tremendous energy, effort and enthusiasm into preparing the Summit. We sincerely thank them for their understanding, continued support and the considerable work undertaken in preparation for what would have been an outstanding event. As an organisation that always puts People First, the safety and wellbeing of our delegates, partners and colleagues is our main responsibility. With many national authorities recommending avoiding non-essential travel to the region, the decision to cancel the 2026 edition was taken after careful consideration by UITP’s Executive Board.”

The next edition of the UITP Summit will therefore take place in Hamburg in 2027.
