Dynamic wireless charging technology provider Electreon announces it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding to acquire the assets of U.S.-based InductEV Inc., a company specialized in ultra-fast, high-power static wireless charging systems for heavy-duty electric transit and freight fleets.
Electreon is knon for the US’s first wireless charging roadway in Detroit, a world’s first wireless charging highway in Paris, and 18 other projects in 8 countries, including transit-related installations in Tel Aviv, Haifa (Israel is the country where Electreon is based) and Trondheim in Norway.
Announced in Los Angeles on November 19, the transaction aims to establish an end-to-end platform covering the full spectrum of EV applications: from passenger cars to commercial vans, from buses to heavy-duty trucks and autonomous vehicles.
Completion of the transaction remains subject to due diligence, final agreements, and regulatory approvals.
Electreon to take over InductEV
By integrating Electreon’s dynamic and mid-/high-power stationary solutions with InductEV’s ultra-fast static systems, the combined company would position itself to deliver a comprehensive wireless charging offering designed to simplify and accelerate fleet electrification.
Bringing together the two companies’ project portfolios and nearly 400 granted and pending patents reinforces their leadership in North America and globally.
“Together with InductEV, we are working to create a genuine global powerhouse for wireless EV charging, offering solutions for every charging scenario and every type of customer and vehicle,” said Oren Ezer, CEO of Electreon. “We see this step as a defining moment for Electreon and for the global wireless charging industry. This transaction will generate strong synergies across technologies, manufacturing, partners, and customer bases.”
John F. Rizzo, CEO of InductEV, echoed the strategic alignment: “Wireless charging will redefine how fleets operate. Electreon shares that vision and brings the global reach and dynamic technology to make it real. By combining our capabilities, we can deliver greater value for North American and European customers and accelerate the shift to wireless power for sustainable commercial transportation.”
