Consorzio Autoservizi Lombardi, the consortium formed by Italian bus operators AIR Pullman and STAV, has launched a €113.84 million tender for 201 battery-electric buses.

The procurement is divided into three lots covering different vehicle classes and configurations, from standard-length urban buses to Class II low-entry vehicles and articulated buses. According to Italian trade media Autobusweb, each lot will be covered by a 48-month framework agreement including full-service maintenance.

The deadline for submitting bids is 5 November 2026, with contracts to be awarded according to the most economically advantageous tender criterion.

Consorzio Autoservizi Lombardi tender: 150 electric urban buses in the largest lot

The first and largest lot covers 150 battery-electric buses and has a value of €79,908,450, according to Autobusweb. The technical requirements specify Class I urban buses between 11.31 and 12.4 metres in length. The vehicles are required to feature a low-floor configuration and three doors.

The first lot accounts for 150 of the 201 vehicles included in the overall procurement and close to €80 million of its €113.84 million total value.

The second lot covers a further 21 battery-electric buses and has a value of €11,258,583. These vehicles are required to be Class II buses between 11.31 and 12.4 metres long, featuring a low-entry configuration and two doors.

Taken together, the first two lots therefore cover 171 battery-electric buses within the 11.31-to-12.4-metre length range, with different configurations according to their respective Class I and Class II specifications.

30 articulated electric buses included in the third lot

The third lot concerns 30 articulated battery-electric buses up to 18.75 metres in length and carries a value of €22,673,490. The buses are required to have a low-floor configuration and three doors.

The three lots bring the overall procurement to 201 battery-electric buses and a combined value of €113,840,523.

All three lots are structured as framework agreements with a duration of 48 months and include full-service maintenance.
