BYD has unveiled today at Busworld Europe 2025 the BYD eBus B12.b HF and the BYD eBus B18.b, alongside displaying also the eBus B12.b LE.
The new models are built on BYD’s proprietary eBus Platform 3.0 and incorporate Blade Battery in Chassis technology, Wheel Hub Hairpin Motors, and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. BYD also announced the expansion of its European manufacturing and service footprint, including the opening of an OEM-run battery service center in the UK.

BYD eBus B12.b HF: the intercity high floor e-bus
The B12.b HF is BYD’s contribution to the growth of the European electric intercity bus segment, which is becoming quite populated of players, with Mercedes and Iveco Bus launching their products last year, Yutong just delivering the IC12E earlier this year and Irizar presenting a new vehicle (the i3 Electric) these days at Busworld.
offers three battery capacities—311 kWh, 429 kWh, and 495 kWh—with a maximum stated driving range of 650 km (SORT III). It supports AC, DC, and pantograph charging, with dual-gun fast charging up to 520 kW. The high-floor design allows a luggage compartment of 5.7 m³.
The B12.b HF is equipped with dual-wheel hub motors, a Silicon Carbide-based 6-in-1 Controller, and BYD’s Continuous Damping Control and electro-hydraulic steering systems. The bus features Advanced Driver Assistance Systems as standard, including lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, forward-collision warning, driver-drowsiness alerts, and emergency braking. The driver cabin integrates BYD’s DiLink Intelligent Network System with a 12.8-inch screen, providing access to vehicle status, multimedia functions, air conditioning, seat adjustments, and wireless phone charging.
BYD incorporates Fleetlink over-the-air technology to allow remote software updates and system monitoring. The B12.b HF uses Lithium Iron Phosphate Blade Batteries.
The BYD eBus B18.b is an 18-metre articulated bus with seating for up to 146 passengers, a maximum battery capacity of 746 kWh, and an electric range of up to 630 km. The B18.b offers an optional four-wheel drive system and incorporates upgraded articulated disc brakes, enhanced hydraulic damping, and regenerative braking features aimed at maintaining stability and brake performance on steep slopes and under adverse conditions, as BYD states in the press note.

BYD stated that more than 5,000 eBuses are already in operation across Europe, covering over 160 cities in 26 countries. More than 1,000 units were produced at the company’s Komárom, Hungary, facility. The company operates over 100 service sites across 15 European countries. The new UK-based battery service center represents the first OEM-run facility of its kind, with further locations planned.
Stella Li, Executive Vice President of BYD, commented: “We’re proud and excited to be showcasing our latest products and technologies at Busworld Europe. The innovations of our latest eBus models, along with our expansion of European production and servicing support, demonstrate our commitment to the acceleration of sustainable public-transport solutions in this region.”
