A successful facelift, and more. That’s right, because the Iveco Bus Crossway has won the Red Dot Award, in the Product Design category, for the new front end and new dashboard of the new generation of Europe’s best-selling Class II. The award ceremony was held at the Red Dot Museum in Essen, Germany.

Red Dot Award, Product Design 2024 to Iveco Bus Crossway

Each year, a jury of about 40 international experts from various specialized fields awards the best products based on functionality, aesthetics, ease of use, sustainability and responsibility. The international Red Dot jury selected the Crossway for the award in the Product Design category for its all-new front end and dashboard, recognizing the manufacturer’s design expertise and know-how. These styling elements were developed by the Iveco Bus design team based in Venissieux, France, in collaboration with the Iveco Group Style Center in Turin, Italy.

The new front end draws inspiration from Iveco tradition, such as the new logo that dominates a grille with simple, clean lines. Its design expresses dynamism and confidence, reflecting a high level of quality perceived by transport operators and passengers in terms of reliability and safety. It cleverly integrates the new LED lights and the new ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) devices, in compliance with the GSR (General Safety Regulation) that will come into effect in July.

The exterior front-end design is complemented by a new dashboard focused on ergonomics and safety, with controls within easy reach of the driver, who can thus operate the main functions without taking his or her hands off the steering wheel.

Alexandre Verwilghen, Iveco Bus Designer, said: “We are very proud to receive this prestigious award for the design of our Crossway new style. It is recognition that we have succeeded in delivering a design that meets new regulatory standards to improve user safety, while giving our new range a charismatic and distinctive style”.
