At the UITP Global Public Transport Summit 2025 Karsan announced that its hydrogen-powered bus, equipped with Toyota fuel cell modules, will be available from the fourth quarter of 2025. The Turkish manufacturer also took the chance for the official debut of the e-ATA LE, a 100% electric model designed for long-distance urban and short intercity routes, positioned in the Class 2 segment.
With this launch, Karsan expanded its electric vehicle portfolio to address growing market interest in the electric intercity bus segment. Up to 528 kWh battery are available on the intercity vehicle, that comes with four battery capacity’ options. Motor? ZF AxTrax. On board there is space for up to 90 passengers, 41 of those seated, all forward-facing.

Karsan launches the e-ATA Low Entry in Hamburg
The company outlines that it has achieved a 6.2% market share in the European electric bus market in the Q1 of 2025, placing then in 6th position in the continent. In total, 2,000 buses are running in 27 countries as of today. 2024 ended with 540 e-buses sold by Karsan, showing a +45% growth on 2023.. 470 units from the e-ATA range have been sold so far, the company stated: 177 are already delivered, 293 are in production.

The company exhibited three vehicles at the event: the e-JEST, Autonomous e-ATAK, and the new e-ATA LE. The e-JEST has maintained its position as the best-selling electric city minibus in Europe for five consecutive years. The Autonomous e-ATAK remains notable as the world’s first Level-4 autonomous public transport bus operating on a planned route. Karsan claims a total of 13 autonomous bus projects underway in 12 countries.
