Tremonia appoints Carsten Bothmann as new CEO

A change at the top for Tremonia Mobility GmbH: Carsten Bothmann has been appointed as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Philipp Ostermann. With immediate effect, Bothmann will be responsible for the strategic and commercial management of the Dortmund-based manufacturer.

Tremonia Mobility is one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of minibuses based on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter platform. Last year, the company passed the milestone of 31,000 minibuses produced over its 25-year history. And speaking of a quarter of a century, Carsten Bothmann himself brings 25 years of experience in the commercial and special-purpose vehicle industry. Most recently, he served as CEO of Binz Automotive GmbH, a German special-purpose vehicle manufacturer with around 530 employees, where he strategically and operationally repositioned the company over a three-year period.

Tremonia changes its management

Mike Schmidt, long-standing Managing Director and head of the Dortmund production site, will continue to oversee operations as before. Together, Bothmann and Schmidt form the executive management team of Tremonia Mobility GmbH.

Marius Banholzer, who has led Tremonia Mobility as Managing Partner through an intensive period of transformation over the past year, will remain part of the management team as the representative of the shareholder. «Over the past twelve months, we have laid the groundwork for a new chapter at Tremonia — in terms of organization, processes and strategic direction. With Carsten Bothmann, we are handing over operational leadership to someone who knows exactly how to grow a company of this size.
