Transerco announces it has deployed 56 electric buses on three Hanoi routes from April 1, 2026.

The implementation, announced by Transerco, the Hanoi Transport Corporation and public transport operator, follows decisions issued by the Hanoi Department of Construction and covers routes 05, 15, 17, 36, and 54. The measures include both operational adjustments and fleet updates, with the stated objective of aligning service provision with passenger demand.

Name of the model is not specificly mentioned, however, as trade agency electrive points out, the released picture are those of a Vinfast 8-meter e-bus model.

The domestic manufacturer has European ambitions, as testified by the participation to Busworld Europe 2025 and more recently to Bus2Bus 2026. The manufacturer will establish a dedicated electric bus manufacturing capacity in Tamil Nadu.

According to information released by Transerco, the introduction of these vehicles follows earlier electric bus operations launched in 2025, when 63 units were placed into service across routes 05, 39, 47, and 34. The operator reports that these earlier deployments were completed in line with municipal requirements and form the basis for subsequent expansion.

Alongside the fleet transition, Transerco says it has revised operational parameters on the affected routes. Route 36 has undergone a modification to its terminal configuration, while service frequencies have also been adjusted under the new service framework.

The combined implementation of electric vehicles and revised service levels is being carried out simultaneously across the five routes as part of the operator’s 2026 planning cycle, as reported by Transerco.
