Wayla, the Italian startup offering a van pooling service in Milan, announces it has introduced five new electric vehicles to its fleet, with more to come in the coming months. To power them, the company has signed a partnership with Atlante, a European operator developing one of Southern Europe’s largest networks of fast and ultra-fast EV chargers, fully powered by renewable energy.

Wayla began service in October 2024 and has been testing also the modular pods provided by the Italian startup Next Modular Vehicles.

Wayla to deploy E-Ducato in Milan

Wayla will deploy Fiat E-Ducato vans equipped with a 110 kWh battery and 150 kW fast-charging capability, enabling a 20–80% charge in just over 30 minutes and a range of 300–350 km per vehicle.

Through the partnership, Wayla’s electric vans will access Atlante’s charging network under dedicated conditions. Vehicles operating in Milan and surrounding areas will feature Atlante’s logo, making the collaboration visible on the road. In turn, Wayla will provide shuttle services for events organized by Atlante, further strengthening the cooperation between the two companies.

Founded with the goal of making urban travel more sustainable, efficient and safe, Wayla enables passengers to share routes through a digital platform (provided by German tech company ioki) that optimizes fleet use. The service — already active in Milan and Monza-Brianza — offers a practical alternative to private mobility, integrating with other transport modes and ensuring transparent booking with fixed travel times and prices.

Atlante, meanwhile, is building a pan-European network of fast and ultra-fast EV chargers across Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, and soon Switzerland, already counting more than 1,000 stations. Milan and its metropolitan area are a strategic hub, with over 70 charging points at key locations such as CityLife, Foody Market, major airports, city gateways like Via Gentile, and along the ring roads at Cascina Gobba and Muggiano. In total, Atlante operates over 1,500 charging points in Italy, all powered by renewable energy and, where possible, integrated with storage and photovoltaic systems.

“Integrating electric vehicles into our fleet is a concrete commitment toward more livable and sustainable cities. We want to offer our users a service that is not only efficient but also environmentally conscious, making van pooling the most natural choice for citizens and companies alike. The partnership with Atlante marks a crucial step in our mission to transform urban mobility,” said Carlo Bettini, CEO & Co Founder of Wayla.

“With Wayla, we share the same vision: to transform urban mobility into a sustainable, shared, and connected experience. Both our companies were founded with the goal of innovating from the city outward, making travel simpler, more accessible, and environmentally friendly. Together, we want to demonstrate that technology and collaboration can truly make our cities more livable and future-ready”, declared Gabriele Tuccillo, CEO of Atlante Italia.
