Forsee Power announces the opening of an office in Japan. The new Forsee Power office is located in Tokyo and hosted by the Group’s Japanese shareholder Mitsui & Co., Ltd., one of the most diversified and comprehensive trading, investment, and service enterprises in the world, who joined Forsee Power’s capital in 2017.

Forsee Power has recently unveiled the its extra-thin batteries from the new SLIM offer, announced in early 2021. Fist customer? Wrightbus. Forsee Power has already secured battery supply contracts with bus manufacturers including CNH (Iveco, Heuliez), Alstom (Aptis)CaetanoBus and the already mentioned Wrightbus.

Forsee Power with Mitsui in Japan

Forsee Power points out that since 2017 «Mitsui has been an active enabler for Forsee Power’s business development, opening doors to both new applications and new geographies, as the shareholder has a strong network among OEMs in Japan and in multiple countries. Most recently, Mitsui contributed to the quick settlement of the Group in India, providing comprehensive support to set up the local entity and sales forces to answer the fast-growing demand».

Forsee Power will also benefit from Mitsui’s network of offices in all main cities in Japan.

Japan is well known for being the leader in hybridization of vehicles and now shifting towards electric and hydrogen applications. Also, Japan is of strategic importance in terms of lithium-ion battery technology development hosting global blue chip cell manufacturers.

Forsee Power is developing a comprehensive range of battery systems. The Group also offers financing solutions (battery rental) to accelerate the transition to electric mobility as well as management of batteries’ second life to ensure a sustainable energy transition.

Forsee Power in Japan with Kubota

Forsee Power targets a series of market segments comprising of light electric vehicles, commercial vehicles, buses, industrial vehicles, railway vehicles and ships.

In December 2020, Forsee Power announced a first partnership with Japanese OEM Kubota, a world leader in construction and agriculture vehicles and a pioneer in the energy transition in its sector. Forsee Power will develop for Kubota a LTO 48V-battery to hybridize a wide range of off-highway vehicles equipped with their 48V Micro-Hybrid Engine.
