Irizar e-mobility has presented ten new Irizar ie electric buses in Kaunas, Lithuania, with the vehicles set to enter service in the coming weeks.

The vehicles supplied to Kaunas belong to the Irizar ie platform, recently acknowledged with Spain’s 2026 Bus of the Year award and launched in an updated version at Busworld Europe 2025. Irizar e-mobility has also recently been awarded a batch of 39 e-buses in the Netherlands, a first in the country. The geographical expansion of the group is also demonstrated by the commissioning of 80 units in Poland in November 2025.

The presentation has been announced by Irizar e-mobility on its Linkedin page (where pictures are sourced from), and took place on 12 February in Kaunas, where the new units were officially introduced ahead of their deployment on the city’s public transport network. The order involves ten Irizar ie buses that will soon begin regular operations.

With this delivery, Kaunas becomes the second city in Lithuania to operate Irizar electric buses, following Klaipeda. The buses will be operated by Kautra, the public transport operator serving Kaunas.
