Shenzhen Bus Group has announced the shortlisted winners for a procurement project covering 1,220 electric buses in Guangdong Province, with a total tender value of ¥1.071601 billion (approximately €132 million).

The procurement process was officially launched on 2 March 2026 and, following adjustments to the tender documentation, was republished on the Shenzhen Sunshine Procurement Platform on 17 April. The results were publicly announced on 15 May 2026, according to Chinese trade media Chinabuses.

The project is divided into three separate lots covering different vehicle categories and lengths.

Skywell, Zhongtong and BYD selected in Shenzhen

Lot 1 covers the procurement of 725 low-floor electric buses in the 10–11-metre segment. The contract was awarded to Skywell New Energy Automobile Group Co. Ltd., with a winning bid value of ¥630.75 million (approximately €77.5 million).

Lot 2 includes 295 high-floor electric buses between 10 and 11 metres in length. Zhongtong Bus Co., Ltd. secured the contract with a winning bid of ¥264.851 million (approximately €32.5 million).

Lot 3 concerns 200 low-floor electric buses in the 8–9-metre category. BYD was selected for this portion of the project with a contract value of ¥176 million (approximately €21.6 million).

According to the tender results published by Shenzhen Bus Group, the combined procurement value for all three lots reaches ¥1.071601 billion, equivalent to around €132 million at current exchange rates.
