Solaris announces it has signed contracts with Nobina for the delivery of 103 Urbino 15 LE electric buses to Sweden, with deliveries scheduled for 2027.

Solaris has secured three contracts with Scandinavian public transport operator Nobina covering a total of 103 low-entry electric buses, according to a press note by Solaris. The vehicles will be deployed across multiple Swedish regions, reinforcing ongoing fleet electrification programmes in the country.

Solaris states that it has delivered 201 electric buses to Nobina since 2024. Additional deliveries scheduled for 2026 and 2027 are expected to exceed 320 units in total. The same model was ordered in 2023 for the same capital city Stockholm, where further 89 Solaris e-buses were commissioned in 2025. A further maxi-order for as many as 180 Solaris BEV buses was landed by Nobina Sverige in September 2025.

Solaris e-buses across Stockholm, Skåne and Göteborg

The contracts provide for the allocation of vehicles across three operational areas. Fifty units are intended for service in the Stockholm region, while 49 buses will operate in Skåne. The remaining four vehicles are scheduled for deployment in the Göteborg area.

The ordered model, the Solaris Urbino 15 LE electric, is designed for both urban and suburban operations. The low-entry configuration enables use across mixed-route environments, including longer-distance services beyond dense city centres.

Each vehicle included in the order will be equipped with Solaris High Energy batteries. These systems are designed to provide capacity suitable for extended routes, supporting operation in suburban and regional transport conditions.

The Urbino 15 LE electric platform integrates components intended for zero-emission operation, with drivetrain and energy storage systems configured for fully electric service. The vehicles are part of Solaris’ established electric bus portfolio deployed across multiple European markets.

“The contract for 103 electric buses ordered by Nobina marks another important milestone in the development of sustainable bus transport in Sweden. Choosing the Urbino 15 LE electric means choosing zero emissions, but above all, comfort. We are very proud that Nobina has once again placed its trust in us, and we look forward to further developing our existing partnership,” said Sverre Skaar, CEO of Solaris Sverige AB.
