PostAuto has signed a framework agreement with Solaris Bus & Coach covering the supply of up to 115 battery-electric buses, with deliveries planned for 2026 and 2027.

The Swiss public transport operator selected Solaris following tender procedures for both 12-metre and 18-metre electric buses, Solaris states in a press note. The framework agreement allows PostAuto to place vehicle orders until the end of 2026, while deliveries may continue through 2027. The buses will be deployed across multiple cities throughout Switzerland.

First order for 33 e-buses is done

Solaris was awarded the contract with its battery-electric Urbino models equipped with a modular drive system. The agreement covers the Urbino 12 electric and the articulated Urbino 18 electric, enabling PostAuto to procure vehicles in both standard and high-capacity configurations under a single contractual framework.

An initial order has already been placed for 33 vehicles, comprising 23 Urbino 12 electric buses and 10 Urbino 18 electric units. These buses will join the fleets of around a dozen Swiss cities as part of PostAuto’s ongoing fleet renewal and electrification activities.

Solaris has been active in the Swiss market since 2002. To date, the manufacturer says it has delivered close to 700 buses in Switzerland, including nearly 250 vehicles supplied to PostAuto.
