UITP Summit 2025 in Hamburg is taking place from 15 to 18 June. For four days, the city in northern Germany will become the epicentre of the global mobility debate: conferences, press conferences, product launches and networking make the UITP Summit the highlight for all urban mobility professionals. Some 10,000 visitors are expected.
The event has been built to address six key themes far and wide: Net Zero Cities; Operations; Lifestyle; People-Centricity; Sustainability and Technology. Themes that will be explored in depth thanks to a rich conference programme consisting of 70 sessions and 340 speakers.
In 2023, the UITP Summit in Barcelona welcomed over 10,000 participants, 425 speakers, 335 exhibitors, and 250 journalists from more than 110 countries.
A last check to the exhibitor list done on 15th June (opening day of the expo), 401 exhibitors are featured, meaning a growth of 19% on 2023.

BYD launches the B13.b Low Entry intercity bus at UITP Summit
BYD has launched in Hamburg, on the occasion of UITP Summit 2025, the intercity Low Entry model B13.b. Based on BYD’s self-developed Blade Battery technology (which is manufactured with BorgWarner) and 13.2-meters long, the BYD eBus B13.b offers a maximum battery capacity of 560 kWh.

With a top speed of 100km/h and a range of up to 700 km, the new BYD eBus B13.b “is engineered to offer operators optimum flexibility, with the ability to master both urban and intercity duties”, BYD states. The B13.b can accommodate up to 78 passengers, including up to 49 seats – a significant increase in the carrying capacity of the previous B13 model, which remains on sale at present and can accommodate up to 70 passengers, as BYD underlines.
CaetanoBus – CRRC at UITP Summit 2025
A new generation of zero emission buses by CaetanoBus is on the launching pad. The pre launch, as shared by the company in early June, was held at UITP Summit 2025 in Hamburg. The new bus family by the Portuguese manufacturer will cover lengths from 8.5m to 18m, including of course the solo 12-meter product. What is interesting, the 18-metre model will include a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) version.

The new bus range by CaetanoBus, both BEV and FCEV, will be made using components and technology from Chinese rolling stock giant CRRC, which is also partnering with Ikarus in the Hungarian market.
Daimler Buses at UITP Summit 2025
From 2026, the Mercedes-Benz eCitaro will be equipped with a new fourth generation lithium-nickel-manganese-cobalt battery. Well: an eCitaro with such an NMC4 battery has been displayed at the UITP Summit for the first time. Unlikely the first three generation, provided by Akasol / BorgWarner, with the 4th generation the group is switching to a new supplier: Polish BMZ.

Indeed Daimler Truck announced in April 2024 that their partner for 4th gen NMC battery was set to be BMZ. The Polish supplier succeeds the current NMC3 technology by BorgWarner launched in early 2023.
Back to Daimler Buses attendance in Hamburg, the stand’s centerpiece at the UITP Summit 2025 is a Mercedes eCitaro, in two-door solo version and features fourth and thus latest NMC4 battery generation. The new NMC4 battery generation “combines a high energy density, enabling longer ranges, with a very long service life. The battery’s longer service life is achieved thanks to more gentle charging, with a maximum charging capacity of 150 kW, as well as regular rapid charging processes, with a charging capacity of up to 300 kW. The new NMC4 batteries will be used in the eCitaro, eCitaro G and eCitaro K from 2026”, Daimler states.
Hayden at UITP Summit 2025
At UITP Summit 2025, Hayden AI showcases its automated bus lane and bus enforcement technology, which enables automated enforcement of bus lanes and stops directly from transit vehicles. Proven to increase bus speeds by 5% and reduce collisions by up to 30%, the technology is already deployed in hundreds of systems across the U.S., with expansion underway in Europe (a pilot is underway in Tallin, Estonia).
Iveco Bus at UITP Summit 2025
Iveco Bus is exhibiting in Hamburg on a 400 m² stand located in Hall A4. On display there is the 12-meter E-WAY battery electric bus, alongside dedicated areas focusing on specific services: Energy Mobility Solutions, offering tailored advice and services for the design and implementation of electromobility projects; IVECO ON‘s digital and connected services, designed to optimize energy consumption and enhance fleet management. An immersive mixed reality virtual experience is also available for visitors, both related to the E-WAY on display than the Crossway LE Elec.

Furthermore, IVECO BUS participates in a FORUM EXPO session. on the topic: “Feedback from an OEM regarding BEV operation in Europe using digital services and internal Control Room.”
Isuzu at UITP Summit
Isuzu is represented in Hamburg with two electric buses, both equipped with batteries from CATL. The 12.03 m long Citivolt low-floor bus is available with NMC batteries with a maximum capacity of 495 kWh and is powered by a ZF AVE 130 electric axle. The Novociti Volt midibus is 7.96 m long and features a TM4 central motor; the LFP batteries can deliver capacities of up to 268 kWh.
JBM at UITP Summit 2025
Indian manufacturer JBM revealed a battery-electric bus designed specifically for the European market, following its earlier appearances at Busworld 2023 and Bus2Bus 2024. We anticipated in late 2024 the launch, scheduled for 2025, of a new e-bus model for Europe. A new e-coach will come at Busworld. The city e-bus model is likely to be introduced in Hamburg.

The Ecolife model, showcased in Hamburg, is designed for urban applications and features a stated range of up to 400 km coupled with ultra‑fast charging compatibility. Compared to the one unveiled at Busworld 2023, the vehicle showcased in Hamburg is said as complying with VDV and European standards.
JBM has partnered with KazenMaier as its preferred German leasing partner. As part of its activities in the European Union, JBM has established its European headquarters in Frankfurt, Germany. The site will handle sales, marketing, aftersales, operations, and partnerships across the region. The European business is led by Daniel Frade, Director Sales, Marketing & After Sales – Europe.
Higer at UITP Summit 2025
The Chinese manufacturer is showcasing a two-door German version of its Fencer F1 Integral EV battery bus in Hamburg; it is marketed from Scania. The 12.50-meter-long, low-floor bus with a central engine is equipped with LFP batteries from CATL, with a capacity of 440 kWh.
MAN at UITP Summit 2025
MAN presents the MAN Lion’s City E in model year 2025 at the UITP Summit in Hamburg and the Busworld Europe trade fair in Brussels.

The new generation of the battery-electric bus by MAN featureS the new battery generation from MAN’s own production facility in Nuremberg, which was launched in April and will initially ramp up to 50,000 packs per year. The MAN BatteryPack will be successively introduced in ramp-up groups across the various Lion’s City E models. The start of series production (SOP) is planned for the fourth quarter of 2025.
Masats at UITP Summit 2025
Bus doors provider Masats is taking the chance of UITP Summit to present its new RE2b bus ramp, featuring “additional width, enhancing both safety and comfort”.
The Spanish supplier also showcases other key innovations, such as the 029g2 electric inward-opening door—engineered to reduce vehicle weight while increasing passage width—and the RD1 dual ramp, combining electric and manual functionality to guarantee continuous operation, unveiled earlier this year. In addition, the 028d sliding door with PIS-L integration further underscores the company’s focus on enhancing the passenger experience.

As part of the Congress programme, Marc Ball-Llosera from Masats will speak on June 16 at 14:30 in Hall A2, presenting on “Designing for All: Building Inclusive, Sustainable Transport Infrastructure and Vehicles.”
MCV at UITP Summit 2025
MCV is having a 12m C127EV and a 10.6m C107EV at its booth. Fresh launch at Mobility Move in April 2025, the 10-meter features one less pack of batteries – by Forsee Power – compared to the 12-meter, here standing at 385 kWh. 13.2 tonnes empty weight, 400 kilos less than the 12-metre.
Solaris at UITP Summit 2025
At this year’s UITP Global Public Transport Summit, taking place from 15 to 18 June 2025 in Hamburg, Solaris is presenting its Urbino 12 electric bus featuring a modular drive system. The company’s experts also take an active part in panel discussions dedicated to the transformation of public transport.

The Urbino 12 electric battery bus presented by Solaris at the UITP Summit is an innovative vehicle, first unveiled at Mobility Move 2024 in Berlin. Its modular drive architecture made it possible to eliminate the traditional engine tower, which resulted in increased passenger capacity.
This design also allows all batteries to be placed on the roof. The next-generation batteries, with a capacity of over 600 kWh, offer a range of 600 km (based on eSORT 2 testing). In addition, the Urbino 12 electric complies with the latest safety and cybersecurity standards, including the so-called GSR2 regulation. The vehicle has been awarded the prestigious Sustainable Bus Award 2025 in the “Urban” category.
ZF at UITP Summit 2025
ZF is showcasing its latest bus technologies at the UITP Summit in Hamburg, including the debut of its CeTrax 2 central electric drive—delivering 210 kW and 8,720 Nm for buses up to 19 tons—and the AxTrax 2 LF low-floor e-axle, which replaces the AxTrax AVE with a stated 20% lower energy consumption.

The new e-comp Scroll air compressor, oil-free and low-noise, also premieres, designed specifically for electric commercial vehicles. ZF will present its Citybus CMS brake assistance system, based on OnGuardMAX, offering advanced collision mitigation tailored for passenger safety, alongside the ZF Bus Connect digital fleet solution.
