IAA 2026, ZF CVS reports over €5 billion in awarded business so far this year. New Euro 7-ready MAXX Uniper brake unveiled

ZF Commercial Vehicle Solutions reports more than €5 billion in awarded lifetime business so far in 2026 and an almost 90% win rate in customer acquisitions as it presents new driveline, braking, safety and software technologies at IAA Transportation 2026.

ZF Commercial Vehicle Solutions (CVS) is using IAA Transportation 2026 in Hanover to present its technology portfolio for zero-emission, automated and software-defined commercial vehicles, alongside figures on recently awarded business and ongoing series-production programs.

According to ZF, the CVS division has secured more than €5 billion in awarded lifetime business in 2026 to date, while its customer acquisition win rate stands at almost 90%. The supplier also reports 41% growth in India compared with 2025.

The figures and product announcements cover electric and hybrid drivelines, air management and braking systems, ADAS and vehicle control technologies, as well as software platforms and services. ZF credits the results to customer programs across different commercial vehicle applications and geographic markets.

ZF expands AxTrax 2 and CeTrax 2 electric driveline programs

ZF is presenting several driveline developments at IAA Transportation 2026, including the TraXon Hybrid transmission system, CeTrax 2 central electric drive, AxTrax 2 electric axle and its Modular e-Drive Kit.

The TraXon Hybrid is based on the company’s transmission platform and targets electrification applications including long-haul transport. CeTrax 2 is being presented with increased power levels, wider application coverage and Power Take-Off availability, while AxTrax 2 receives higher output torque levels for applications with higher gross combination weights.

ZF also lists several recent commercial and industrial milestones for these products. The company has secured what it describes as a major AxTrax 2 LF city bus order in India, while AxTrax 2 has entered production in China. CeTrax 2 dual is entering series production in Europe.

In conventional and hybrid driveline technologies, ZF reports a new business program in Japan for the TraXon 2 with Intarder on the Hino S’Elega coach. More than 1.5 million TraXon automated manual transmissions have been produced since 2014, according to ZF.

The company is also exhibiting its Modular e-Drive Kit, comprising scalable electric-drive building blocks intended for different driveline configurations and vehicle applications.

ZF introduces MAXX Uniper brake and integrated Air Supply Unit

Beyond propulsion, ZF is presenting new air-management and braking products in Hanover. According to the company, production of its two-stage compressors will reach one million units in 2026, 20 years after the technology was presented at IAA 2006.

Its latest Air Supply Unit integrates the e-comp Scroll electric compressor with air-processing components in a single system for electrified commercial vehicles.

ZF is also staging the world premiere of the MAXX Uniper air disc brake. The new single-piston system has been developed for commercial vehicle applications and is designed to reduce brake-dust particle emissions while meeting Euro 7 requirements.

ZF reports an extension of its Electronic Air Processing Unit contract with a major global truck and bus manufacturer. In North America, the supplier also reports continued compressor business growth, including a new long-term agreement with Cummins.

ADAS, braking and electronic architectures target higher automation levels

ZF’s IAA Transportation display also includes cameras, radars, electronic control systems and braking technologies for commercial vehicle safety and automation.

The sensor portfolio includes scalable camera and radar configurations for different vehicle architectures. ZF is also presenting 360-degree safety functions incorporating automatic braking intervention for collision prevention during driving and maneuvering operations.

A new electronic control unit has been developed for centralized and zonal electrical/electronic architectures. According to ZF, the unit supports software scalability and is intended to reduce system complexity.

The company’s braking portfolio includes its mBSP XBS technology for Level 4-capable applications. ZF states that the system has already been deployed more than 250,000 times globally. The latest generation of the iEBS electronic braking system extends braking and control functions to trailers.

ZF reports customer commitments for ADAS technologies in Europe extending to 2030, as well as further deployment of advanced trailer braking systems in Europe, China and South America. The company also reports major ESC business wins in India ahead of upcoming legislation. Across ABS, EBS and mBSP XBS technologies, ZF says 20 million braking systems have been deployed worldwide.

Software-defined commercial vehicles: Truck-Trailer Link, OTA updates and diagnostics

Software-defined vehicle technologies form another part of ZF’s IAA 2026 presentation. The supplier is showing a service-oriented vehicle architecture, Truck-Trailer Link, over-the-air update solutions and the OptiRide ECAS electronically controlled air suspension system.

The updated Smart Pneumatic Actuator used with OptiRide ECAS can host application software directly, removing the requirement for an external electronic control unit in the described configuration.

ZF is also presenting software products already in commercial use. Its SUMS Service Suite, developed to support software update management compliance, is used by more than 150 trailer manufacturers, according to the company.

The [pro]Diagnostics platform provides SaaS-based diagnostic functions for vehicle manufacturers and fleets, with regular updates and cybersecurity compliance. ZF Health Check has also been extended to AxTrax 2 LF and other ZF products to provide information on vehicle and component condition.

The company additionally highlights its e-Drive and Braking Synergy Program, which combines software functions with electric driveline and braking systems.
