Iveco Bus will supply its first E-Way H2 (although under Heuliez Bus brand GX 337 H2 Linium, which is still in force in the France market) to the Cannes Lérins Urban Community with deliveries starting in the second half of 2025. Also battery-electric by Iveco Bus have been delivered so far (35 units).

The model, presented at Busworld 2023 in Brussels, has been awarded with Busplaner award in Germany and is among finalists at the Sustainable Bus Award 2025, whose winners will be announced at FIAA in Madrid on October 22, 2024.

Iveco Bus E-Way H2 coming to Cannes

These new zero-emission BRT buses Iveco Bus E-Way H2 will extend the fleet of GX ELEC buses already in operation on the PALM BUS network, which enters a new phase with the adoption of hydrogen technology.

The Cannes Lérins Urban Community has been operating a fully decarbonised bus fleet (107 vehicles) since June 2023 using electric power and biofuels. In keeping with this, its president, David Lisnard, has chosen to produce and distribute clean hydrogen starting in 2025 by installing a production station in Cannes – a first in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region. On completion, 41 buses will be fuelled with clean hydrogen

The Iveco Bus E-Way features a 100 kW fuel cell (by Hyundai Motor) and hydrogen tanks paired with a 69 kWh battery for a range of up to 450 km. “Its “mid power” design significantly reduces hydrogen consumption by 15 to 20% compared to market standards, while offering excellent thermal comfort and a high passenger capacity of up to 110″, the OEM underlines.

“We are very proud to have been selected by the Cannes Lérins Urban Community for the supply of these 12 new GX 337 H2 buses,” said Giorgio Zino, Head of Iveco Bus Europe Commercial Operations. “This renewed trust confirms Iveco Bus’s excellence in zero-emission mobility solutions, and in particular hydrogen technology.”
