Iveco Bus unveils sub-6-metre eFLEXY for DRT and urban services, deliveries from Q1 2027

Iveco Bus has unveiled the new eFLEXY battery-electric minibus at FIAA 2026 in Madrid, with Class A and B versions and first deliveries scheduled for Q1 2027.

The new model, bodied by Italian company Olmedo, was presented today, 22 September, during an Iveco Bus press conference at FIAA. The eFLEXY is offered in City and Line configurations, with a 110 kWh battery, a stated range of up to 300 km and a 205 kW electric powertrain, according to Iveco Bus product information.

During the presentation, Iveco Bus also provided figures on its commercial performance. Giorgio Zino, Vice President Commercial Operations Europe at Iveco Bus, said Q2 2026 net revenues increased by 22%, while the company’s European market share stands at 25% overall and 65% in the intercity segment.

For Spain, Fabrizio Toscano, Business Director Iberia at Iveco Bus, reported a 14.7% overall market share, rising to 56% in intercity and 35% in the city bus segment.

The launch follows Iveco Bus’s announced programme for FIAA 2026, where the manufacturer had scheduled the global premiere of a new battery-electric model expanding its zero-emission range. FIAA is taking place at IFEMA Madrid from 22 to 24 September.

Iveco Bus plans the first deliveries of the eFLEXY for Q1 2027.

Iveco Bus eFLEXY: City and Line versions with 110 kWh battery

The eFLEXY is less than six metres long and is available in two configurations. Iveco Bus describes the eFLEXY City as the version for urban routes with high passenger turnover, while the eFLEXY Line is configured for flexible, medium-distance and demand-responsive transport services.

Marco Zanchetta, Head of Product Management at Iveco Bus, highlighted during the presentation the growth of demand-responsive transport and the expansion of urban networks. The new vehicle will be available in Class A and Class B configurations.

The electric architecture combines a 110 kWh battery with a 205 kW, or 275 hp, electric powertrain. Iveco Bus states a range of up to 300 km on a single charge. DC fast charging is available at up to 150 kW; according to the manufacturer’s technical material, charging from 20% to 80% takes around 45 minutes, while up to 100 km of range can be recovered in 15 minutes. AC charging is available at 7.4, 11 and 22 kW.

The drivetrain provides Eco, Normal and Power driving modes and four regenerative-braking settings: High, Medium, Low and Coasting.

eFLEXY City carries up to 17 passengers, Line up to 13

The eFLEXY City is configured for urban operation and can accommodate up to 17 passengers plus the driver. Iveco Bus lists several interior arrangements, including a wheelchair-accessible configuration with nine seats, two standing passengers and one wheelchair position, plus the driver. A rear wheelchair lift is specified for the accessible configuration.

The eFLEXY Line provides up to 13 passenger seats plus the driver. Alternative layouts include an 11-seat version and an accessible configuration with eight seats and one wheelchair position. Equipment includes reclining seats with integrated seatbelts and headrests, a continuous-level floor and an electrically operated side step at the sliding door.

Both versions feature Level 2 driver-assistance systems and comply with the latest European GSR requirements, according to Iveco Bus. The equipment described by the manufacturer includes adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go, traffic-jam assistance, lane centering, intelligent speed assistance, blind-spot monitoring, driver-distraction warning and a rear-view camera. A digital rear-view mirror and 360-degree parking sensors are also listed.

Connectivity services include IVECO ON Access, the Easy App, uptime monitoring, remote charging and comfort-function management, and eRange Assurance. Iveco Bus also specifies an eight-year or 160,000-km warranty for the battery, while the eFLEXY Line and City vehicles carry a two-year comprehensive warranty.
