After Italy, with the acquisition of what used to be its dealer for the Italian market, namely Mauri Bus System and the creation of Otokar Italia, a subsidiary of Otokar Europe and under the Koç Group umbrella, now the Turkish Oem is also going to conquer the German market, where it has decided to open a new subsidiary.

This is a decisive step in the strategy of the Adapazarı-based manufacturer, which, in its own words, wants to position itself among the top five brands in the European bus market.

Otokar also opens in Germany

As well as Otokar Italy, Otokar Germany will also be a subsidiary of Otokar Europe SAS, joining precisely the entity on home soil, the one in France and the one in Romania. Kerem Erman, head of Otokar Commercial Vehicles, said: «We opened our subsidiary in Germany to support our successful growth on the continent with Otokar buses. Our ultimate goal is to position ourselves among the top five European players».

Erman, therefore, added: «To support our efforts to drive our success in Europe, our main market for commercial vehicles, we are taking strategic measures. Germany is a major European market and home to global brands, which makes entering the market quite challenging. The opening of our subsidiary in Germany is part of our organizational structuring plans for key European markets, particularly with our new zero-emission product range».

Erman said Otokar continues to maintain its place among the leading bus manufacturers in Europe: «Our investments are continuous to create the largest plant operating under one roof in Europe. Today we have a wide range of buses from 6 meters to 21 meters. We develop tailor-made solutions to meet customer needs through our wide product range and R&D capabilities, offering vehicles to order. These capabilities enable us to meet the needs of operators around the world with economical, environmentally friendly and sustainable transportation solutions. We are ready to address the evolving needs of the European market, which is currently undergoing a transformation to mitigate the impact of global climate change. Ultimately, we aim to position ourselves among the top five bus manufacturers in Europe».
