The insolvency administrators of Spanish coach bodybuilder Sunsundegui have launched a public auction for the company’s trademarks, patents and technical support business. The company has ceased operations in 2025.

The insolvency administrators of Sunsundegui have put the Spanish coach bodybuilder’s intangible assets up for public auction as part of the company’s insolvency proceedings. According to the company, the sale covers its brand identity, industrial property and technical support activities, with the process managed by specialist asset sales company Surus through its Escrapalia online platform.

The assets are being offered in three separate lots comprising the company’s trademarks and digital assets, patents and industrial property, and its technical assistance unit (SAT). The objective is to enable the company’s technical and commercial know-how to continue under new ownership.

Interested parties may access a virtual data room containing technical, commercial and employment documentation relating to the assets before submitting bids. The deadline for bids covering the trademarks and patents is 15 September 2026.

The auction, as mentioned above, covers the Sunsundegui brand and associated trademarks registered in Spain, the European Union and the United Kingdom, together with the company’s corporate internet domains.

In addition, the sale includes Sunsundegui’s technical assistance unit (SAT), the company’s after-sales business supporting the thousands of Sunsundegui coaches operating across Europe. According to Surus, the package includes agreements with authorized service workshops, workshop manuals, wiring diagrams, the Electronic Parts Catalogue (EPC) and inventories of original spare parts.

According to the company, the assets may be of interest to bus and coach manufacturers, electric mobility companies and after-sales service providers seeking to expand through an established brand, engineering portfolio and existing customer base.

Being more specific, the auction comprises three groups of assets:

  • Lot 1 – Trademarks and distinctive signs: the Sunsundegui brand, logos and trade names, with established recognition in Spain and international markets.
  • Lot 2 – Industrial designs, bus models, engineering and patents: bus models, construction drawings, technical documentation, approvals and technological developments intended to enable immediate industrial exploitation.
  • Lot 3 – Technical Assistance Service (SAT) and strategic spare parts: the after-sales business, technical assistance operations, original spare parts supply and support for the existing fleet of Sunsundegui vehicles in operation.
