The TRATON Group has reported record sales in 2022. For the first time, the group’s overall sales exceeded 300,000 units, with 305,500 vehicles sold in total. This represents a 12% increase from the previous year, where the group sold 271,600 vehicles. However, if we exclude the first-time full-year consolidation of Navistar, the group’s unit sales would have decreased by 7%. More information on Sustainable Truck&Van article.

When looking at the specific sales/orders figures for buses, the group saw a significant increase in incoming orders for buses, which grew 45% to 32,300 (2021: 22,200) vehicles. This is in contrast to the decline in incoming orders for trucks, which decreased by 10% to 274,300 (2021: 305,700) vehicles.

The group’s brands, Scania, MAN, Volkswagen Truck & Bus, and Navistar, were restrictive in accepting new orders, the group says, due to high capacity utilization and difficulty in predicting the further development of energy and component costs.
