Yutong opens Norway Service Center for electric bus repair, testing, parts and training

Yutong has opened its first comprehensive service center in Europe in Stokke, Norway, while also presenting the new Yutong U18 BRT battery-electric articulated bus for the Norwegian and European markets.

The Yutong Norway Service Center, located at Borgeskogen in Stokke, covers 38,941 square metres and combines repair, vehicle testing, spare parts and technical training activities. According to information released by Yutong, the facility will provide services directly from the manufacturer to Norwegian customers while complementing the company’s other local service channels.

Yutong registered Yutong Bus (Norway) AS in 2025. The new center provides local capabilities dedicated to battery-electric bus maintenance, inspections, spare parts management and technical training for operators and maintenance personnel.

The opening of the Stokke facility comes alongside Yutong’s established presence in Norway and its current position in the European battery-electric bus market. In July 2026, around 235 battery-electric buses entered service in Vestfold under Tide Buss. Yutong had already supplied 102 battery-electric buses for operations in Bergen for Keolis, just to name one of the major deliveries in the region.

The Chinese group ranked first in European battery-electric bus registrations in the first half of 2026, with 1,636 vehicles registered, while Norway recorded 660 battery-electric buses during the same period.

Yutong Norway Service Center features seven bus repair workstations

The facility is equipped with seven standardized inspection and repair workstations, as well as dedicated workstations for powertrains and large components.

Workshop equipment includes four-post lifts, electronic laser wheel-alignment systems, brake test benches and heavy-duty vehicle tire-balancing equipment. The available operations cover chassis and electrical repairs, high-voltage systems, powertrains and large components, air-conditioning systems and non-serious accident repairs.

The center also includes a professional bus testing line built according to EU standards, with a 31.5-metre inspection trench, two 16-tonne trench jacks and equipment for braking, lighting, sideslip and OBD testing.

Yutong states that the facility has the capabilities required for Norwegian statutory PKK inspections, including EU full-item inspections. Annual vehicle inspections, fault troubleshooting and safety performance verification can therefore be carried out at the center.

Technical training represents another function of the site. The facility includes a theoretical training room and a multifunctional practical training area equipped with systems dedicated to battery-electric buses, air conditioning, EBS braking and high-voltage component assembly and disassembly.

According to Yutong, the training equipment uses components derived from actual vehicles. Courses for customer operations teams and local repair technicians cover system architecture, operating principles, operation simulation and fault diagnosis.

2,300-square-metre warehouse holds €8.5 million in Yutong parts

The Norway Service Center includes a 2,300-square-metre parts warehouse carrying 4,500 SKUs of original components with a stated reserve value of €8.5 million.

The inventory includes components for batteries, motors and electronic control systems, as well as powertrain and chassis parts, steering systems, electrical equipment, pneumatic and hydraulic components, body parts and maintenance consumables.

The local inventory is connected with Yutong’s regional central warehouses for replenishment. At global level, Yutong states that its service network covers 164 countries and regions through more than 400 service outlets, 15 parts distribution centers and 14 forward warehouses.

The manufacturer also operates a three-level parts reserve network connecting its headquarters, parts distribution centers and dealers or service centers. Its digital parts management infrastructure includes OMS, WMS, TMS and DMS platforms.

The Norwegian center is integrated with Yutong’s Link+ platform, which includes vehicle status management, inspection, fault-warning and remote-diagnostics functions.

Yutong states that its global service activities also include more than 200 intermediate and senior trainers and three international training centers, located in Ghana, Pakistan and the Philippines.
