AMT Genoa goes with Irizar e-mobility for its first standard-size electric bus order. The operator has signed a contract for 14 Irizar ie bus 10.8m long electric buses and their charging facilities, following a European call for tender.

The Irizar zero‑emissions buses (ie bus range has been recently updated) will operate around the streets of Genoa (Italy) from August 2020. This new order follows the batch of 10 Rampini E80 (8-meter long) delivered last year.

With on-board energy of 350 kWh, these Irizar ie bus vehicles for Genoa have a range of 220km, states the manufacturer, and have 3 doors, 20 seats for passengers and capacity for 81 users. They are equipped with technology developed by the Irizar Group, comprising electronics and communications technology, and also their main components and systems. The batteries are also Irizar’s own technology and conform to the latest European regulations R100.v2, R10.v5 and UN38.3 on electrical, thermal and mechanical safety.

The Irizar ie bus for Genoa are charged overnight with 9 interoperable chargers with Combo 2 connectors, also developed and manufactured by the Irizar Group.
