Temsa announcees it has delivered 15 MD9 electriCITY electric buses in Lithuania, with further deliveries planned to bring its total fleet in the country (regardless of traction) to 321 units.
The delivery took place in Kaunas and involved vehicles that will be operated by UAB Kautra, one of the country’s largest public transport operators. The handover ceremony was attended by representatives from the European Commission, national and municipal authorities, and the Central Project Management Agency, alongside Temsa CEO Evren Güzel.
The vehicles will be deployed in local public transport services across municipalities, contributing to Lithuania’s ongoing electrification of its bus fleet.
We have focused on one idea: designing mobility around real needs. Because every customer, every market, every geography is different. And we turn what we hear into real and valuable solutions. In fact, as an industry, we have been preparing for this transformation for many years. At Temsa, we have been investing in electrification for a long time. Today, we have 11 zero-emission vehicles in our portfolio. We develop our own battery systems. We invest in charging and energy solutions. This allows us to go beyond manufacturing and act as a true mobility partner

Temsa delivers e-buses in Lithuania
Recent European activities include the delivery of 10 units of the LD SB E electric coach in Portugal. Over the past year, Temsa has entered additional European markets including Czechia, Finland, Croatia, Malta, Norway, and Poland, while continuing deliveries in established markets.

The delivery forms part of Lithuania’s broader transition toward zero-emission public transport systems. According to European Commission data cited in the press note by Temsa, battery-electric buses accounted for approximately 52% of new bus registrations in the country in 2025.
UAB Kautra, which has collaborated with Temsa for more than 20 years, will integrate the MD9 electriCITY units into its operations. The project includes not only vehicle deployment but also supporting infrastructure and charging systems required for electric bus operations.
Temsa states that additional deliveries scheduled throughout 2026 will increase the number of its vehicles operating in Lithuania to 321 units.
The MD9 electriCITY is a 9.5-metre electric bus designed for urban applications and equipped with a 250 kW electric motor. The model is already in operation in several European markets, including Sweden, France, and Spain, and represents Temsa’s first exported electric vehicle.
The manufacturer reports a portfolio of 11 zero-emission vehicle models and ongoing investments in battery systems, charging technologies, and energy solutions.

“Temsa is a mobility partner with nearly 60 years of experience. Our vehicles operate in 70 countries.
At Temsa, we are working towards becoming the ‘preferred mobility brand’. And throughout this journey, we have focused on one idea: designing mobility around real needs. Because every customer, every market, every geography is different. And understanding these differences is at the heart of what we do. At Temsa, our principles are clear. We are approachable, enterprising, and agile. We listen carefully to our customers. This allows us to go beyond manufacturing and act as a true mobility partner”. said CEO Evren Güzel.
“For us, it goes beyond purchasing vehicles; it also requires developing the necessary infrastructure and charging solutions,” said Linas Skardžiukas, CEO of Kautra. “This enables a single electric bus to reduce approximately 650 tonnes of CO₂ emissions over a 10-year period, equivalent to the emissions produced by around 360 passenger cars over the same period.”
