ITS company Matawan has announced that it has increased its business by more than 30 percent in the last year, as reported on French trade media Car&Bus News. What is more, the company reportedly added 40 new customers in the mobility sector, with more than 300 transport networks equipped as of today.

Matawan expansion intelligent transport solutions

In Italy, Matawan will be helping to modernise the 10,000 stops in Ferrara and Bologna, enabling passengers to consult stop information in real time via QR code, without the need for a mobile application. The company is also working (also in Bologna) with Italian specialist MAIOR to integrate intelligent transport systems (ITS) and improve the accessibility and efficiency of passenger information. A partnership signed in late 2024 aims at combining the MAIOR Suite together with Matawan’s WanReport in order to offer a unique platform for delivering real-time information to passengers.

In Matawan’s words, “WanReport automatically generates all passenger information materials, controls reference data, monitors and manages network infrastructure, and manages multi-channel communication campaigns. It provides real-time updates and alerts for travelers, while making operations more efficient by eliminating manual changes. The solution is already deployed at over 125,000 bus stops in France, Switzerland, Spain and Italy, where it will equip 10,000 stops in Ferrara and Bologna over the next four years”.
