Masabi has been awarded a Sourcewell cooperative purchasing contract, enabling more than 50,000 public agencies across the US and Canada to procure its fare collection technology through a pre-competed purchasing framework.
Masabi has announced that its Justride fare collection platform is now available through the Sourcewell cooperative purchasing program following the award of a contract under the “Transportation Services Payment Solutions” category. According to the company, the agreement provides transit agencies, municipalities, counties, tribal governments and other public organizations with a procurement route that complies with public purchasing requirements while reducing the need for individual competitive solicitations.
The announcement, released by Masabi on 16 June 2026, expands access to the company’s fare payment technologies across North America through a purchasing mechanism already used by public agencies in both the United States and Canada.
Sourcewell contract opens procurement pathway
Sourcewell conducts nationally competitive solicitation processes on behalf of public agencies and awards cooperative purchasing contracts that meet public procurement standards. Through the newly awarded agreement, agencies can directly procure Masabi’s Justride platform and a range of associated hardware solutions.
The contract covers the company’s enterprise software platform for public transport fare collection. Agencies can adopt the full platform or implement individual modules according to operational requirements and available budgets.
According to information released by Masabi, the cooperative purchasing structure provides procurement documentation and audit trails required by public bodies while allowing organizations to access pre-negotiated pricing established through Sourcewell’s purchasing framework. The company states that the contract is available across both the US and Canada.
Masabi’s Justride platform is designed as an open SaaS fare collection system supporting multiple payment technologies. The platform includes mobile ticketing, account-based ticketing (ABT) and open payments functionality.
