Turin public transport municipal operator GTT and Indcar officially signed the contract for the purchase of 22 electric minibuses realized by the French company Bluebus (Indcar acts as dealer for Italy and Spain since mid-2023).

The signing took place on 9 May during NME – Next Mobility Exhibition in the presence of Serena Lancione, Managing Director of GTT, and Gaël Queralt, Managing Director of Indcar. Tender was awarded in late 2023, but official signing and ceremony took place today.

The first 10 buses will be delivered at the end of 2024, the further 12 in the second half of 2025.

Indcar selling Bluebus buses in Turin

This agreement formalises the award to Indcar, based in Spain, of the general supply of 30 vehicles, including an initial batch of 22 units with the possibility of optionally purchasing a further 8. The supply is made possible thanks to Next Generation funding.

The new electric minibuses, a model of which is on display at the Indcar stand at the NME fair, will integrate the GTT fleet and contribute to the implementation of NTT – Nuovo Trasporto Torino, the ambitious plan for the transformation of the public transport system that the Turin-based company is pursuing in synergy with the City of Turin for a public transport system that is competitive with private vehicles, strongly interconnected and intermodal.

With a length of 5.9 metres, the Bluebus 6m combine a compact design and great manoeuvrability with the possibility of carrying up to 33 passengers.

The technological set-up developed for GTT will include the e-mirrors system, high-definition cameras and monitors to replace the mirrors, and the GSR lane-change warning system and adaptive automatic speed control.
